[DW]First part of the fleet

Few more night watching Series to finish the first part of my Dystopian Wars fleet.

First part because, I ran out of White primer before preparing the Battleship, bombers and fighters…

So, 9 frigates, 3 cruisers, all chain painted, I was quite happy to finish them.

You can admire here the wonderful mat I would use during my future games.

All 9 frigates are the same, I should have differentiate them to retrieve the squad … I will see if it is useful later.

I used a satin varnish instead of a mat one to give a lacquered look to the hull. How do you like them ?

Cruisers have the same colour scheme.

Note the smoke plumes, made with cotton and iron thread, if needed, I could create a tutorial on how to make them.

[DW]first japanese frigate

A cosy evening at home, my wife stitching a costume for my son, I was painting, both on front of the TV…

So I painted my first little boat from Dystopian Wars tonight, in about one and half episode of Bones, about 1 hour painting.

Pictures are taken by my wife.

Color scheme is inspired from the WW2 Zero winter camo.

Sceneries are my tiles recently created, rocky river edges becomes cliffs!

As this is a Steampunk world, I tried to make copper tank at the back of the ship, using gold paint and several washes (brown, blue and green).

You can notice the mini freehand flag, it should represent the Japanese Imperial Flag, but in 2mm by 1.5mm size.

This scheme suits me, I will keep on painting the 8 remaining frigates this way.

I will try to add a smoke plume going out the chimney

So, do you like this color scheme ?
